Pediatric Eye Exam

Pediatric Eye Exam

Vision is one of the most important aspects of the development of a child. American Academy of Optometry recommends that every child starting at the 3 years of age receives an annual comprehensive eye exam with an eye care professional.

During an eye exam doctor evaluates the vision, color vision, stereopsis, ocular health and the ability of the eyes to work together.

Some of the most common problems include strabismus (eye turn) and amblyopia (lazy eye). Both of these conditions could be successfully managed and treated when detected in a timely manner.

Annual eye exam is the best way to evaluate and monitor for changes in vision which could rapidly happen at an early age. Clear and comfortable vision is an essential part of successful learning at school, playing sports and other activities.
